My name is Steffen Schmitt.   The pictures presented on H2Ostsee.de are taken during several dives in different countries around the world.   I've learned scuba diving in 1990 and made my first steps in underwater photography in 1994. One of my favourite dive sites is the Baltic Sea. During the last 14 years I've spent a lot of my time capturing species living in this small ocean.                This year I started to become familiar with digital underwater photography.

My new Canon EOS 40D is used in a Hugyfot housing. Neverthelss I still like my analog Canon EOS 600 as well as my Canon EOS 1V. Both cameras are waterproof packed in SEACAM underwater housings. They are used in combination with Subtronic underwater strobes. My photo gallery contains impressions from the Baltic Sea as well as selected pictures captured in different locations around the globe.
